Martin recently celebrated his forty-fourth year of gospel ministry. He has spent almost twenty-five years pastoring churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. While still in his teens, Martin launched his ministry career as a traveling evangelist. He returned to evangelism from 1997 until the end of 2004. For three years he pastored in Pensacola, Florida and then answered the call to a new missionary/evangelistic venture in early 2008.

As a world missionary, Martin has preached on six continents and visited 50 different countries. He has preached at crusades and conventions attended by 10,000s.

Martin has attended eleven different institutions of higher education. He is a graduate of Cameron University, Oklahoma Missionary Baptist College, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. His last degree earned was the Doctor of Ministry degree at Austin Pesbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas.

In 1994, Martin was chosen as the president of Messenger College in Joplin, Missouri. He also served the college as the Dean of the School of Lifelong Learning and as a professor of theology and missions.

From 2001-2004, Martin served Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Pensacola, Florida as Academic Dean. He taught a number of courses in the college and was a regular speaker at the Brownsville Assembly of God Church.

Also a free-lance writer, Martin’s articles have appeared in Charisma, The Remnant, Ministries Today, Pulpit Helps, The Missionary Voice, The International Pentecostal Holiness Advocate, The Pentecostal Messenger, The Pentecostal Minister, The Message of the Open Bible, The Pentecostal Leader, The Church Herald and Holiness Banner, The Brownsville Report, and The Church of God Evangel.

Martin, considered by many to be an authority on the Pentecostal revival at Azusa Street, is the author of The Life and Ministry of William J. Seymour and editor of The Complete Azusa Street Library. He has written or edited In the Beginning, a history of early Pentecostals and the Pentecostal Church of God, For Sale the Soul of a Nation, The Topeka Outpouring of 1901, and has edited and/or contributed to several other works.

River of of Revival Ministries, Inc. was founded by Martin and he continues to serve as president of the ministry.

Martin is married to Tajuana Jo, a full partner in the ministry. The couple have two children, Matthew Dallas who lives in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Summer Jo, a student at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas.
