2011

December 10 , 2011 - Merry Christmas from the Martin Home

We love Christmas time at the Martin house. The tree is up, the house is decorated and yes, we are all eating like it was already Christmas. Most of all we rejoice in the birth of our King! Last week, I preached in Foley and took advantage of the opportunity to preach a Christmas message. One of the things I miss about being a pastor is preaching at Christmas time.

November 27, 2011 - COHP

We visited Church of His Presence today. It was a powerful service and Pastor Kilpatrick and Nathan prayed for everyone, including TJ and I. When Pastor prayed for me he said he saw something coming out of a "void." Where there is only emptiness now something is coming forth by December 31. I love it when God is up to something! Please help us pray in the promise.

November 15, 2011 - Harvest Vineyard

TJ and I ministered at Harvest Vineyard in Crestview, Florida on Sunday. Harvest Vineyard has a great program for helping people deal with addictions and other life problems. Several of our BRSM grads work in the program.

November 9, 2011 - Ohio

I was blessed to spend a great weekend at Mt Holly Christian Chapel in Amelia, OH. This was my third revival at Mt HollySeveral got right with the Lord and a number were baptized in the Holy Ghost.

Pastors Lary and Rosella Goss are doing a tremendous job at Mt Holly. God has blessed them with a new facility and they are working hard to build the kingdom. Lary has been one of my dearest friends for almost 40 years. I have learned so much Bible from him over the years and thank God for his dedicated life.

October 30, 2011 - Music City

For nearly seven years, TJ and I have wanted to visit Grace Church in Nashville. It seems like every time we have had plans something else has came up. TJ had a long weekend, so we decided it was time for a road trip and what a great time we have had.

Lindell has a great church. A wonderful mix of people, a great spirit, and, of course, incredible worship. Lindell's music has changed our lives over the past fifteen years. Thank God he is still deeply in love with Jesus. Lindell and Amber are doing a great job at Grace Church. We wish them the best as they lengthen their cords and strengthen their stakes!

October 17, 2011 - Close to home!

I have been close to home since the trip to Australia/New Zealand. Two weeks ago I preached at Family Revival Center in Foley, Alabama and this weekend TJ and I drove to Baton Rouge to visit Family Worship Center. We had a great lunch with the Swaggarts. They are always so kind to us. What a great work they are doing for our Lord!

September 29, 2011 - My favorite places. . .

People often ask me, having traveled all over the world, what is my favorite place. Actually there are two. The first is home. I got home this morning after a red-eye flight from LA. It had been a month since I was home. TJ and I are chillin' in our side-by-side recliners. It is great to be home with family. Even Slippers was glad to see me.

My second favorite place is Azusa Street and I was there last week. I had a great time studying at the LA library and visiting Azusa and Bonne Brae.

September 27, 2011 - Southern California

I flew back into Los Angeles, to spend a week in SoCal. I am researching another book in my Azusa series. I preached this weekend at Living Hope PCG in beautiful Riverside, California. Pastor Eduardo Ponce and his fine congregation was so kind to me. We had an outdoor meeting; the church is bi-lingual; and, I preached with a Spanish interpreter. In some ways I felt more like a missionary than I did in Australia and New Zealand.

September 21, 2011 -Out on the deep blue sea . . .

I decided that since I had to leave New Zealand I should leave with a splash, or at least a scenic route. I rode the bus to Picton and then the ferry to Wellington. It was a bit bumpy but beautiful nonetheless. I met some wonderful people for a home Bible study in Wellington; stayed with a precious couple in a beautiful home; was afforded a short tour of the city; and then flew to Auckland. Tomorrow . . . USA. As strange as it seems, I leave here Thursday afternoon, get to Tahiti on Wednesday night and arrive in the US Thursday morning, four hours before I leave Auckland . . . . No wonder I am confused.

September 18, 2011 -"Lovely!"

It's hard to find a word to describe my first trip to New Zealand. I think the "Kiwis," as New Zealanders are called would use the word "lovely." This must be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I am overwhelmed by God's mighty creative works! As hard as it seems to believe, the people are as beautiful as the landscape.

I ministered in Nelson at Richmond Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Dunne. Steve is an on-fire guy, who like myself is a product of the Brownsville Revival. The services were extraordinary. You would have to be here to understand. Souls were saved, healed and baptized in the Holy Spirit. I don't know that I have ever felt such a hunger in a congregation. God visited us with a very strong sense of His presence. I love it!

BRSM graduates are everywhere! It was a joy to spend some time with Jack Moran one of our former students in Nelson, NZ.

September 13, 2011 - More news from Down Under

I am having a great time in Australia. The people here are so kind. I must say thanks to Norman and Tamaris Howlett for hosting me in their home. They could not have been kinder. Norm worked at Brownsville when I was there and it is good to discuss the greatness of God and the Brownsville revival.

On Wednesday night I spoke in Brisbane to a group of young Pacific Islanders. They call themselves J.C. Souljers and they are on fire for God.

Thursday, I went to Logan and spoke at the second campus of the Holy Fire Training School. Saturday and Sunday I held an Azusa Street Now Conference for the Park Ridge Baptist Church. God moved powerfully. Precious saints were baptized in the Holy Ghost in every service.

I came back to Brisbane and taught two sessions at the school there on Monday night. Praise God, four of the students received the Holy Spirit baptism, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Today, Tuesday, has been a rest day. Glenn, Anna, Norm and Tamaris took me to the Australian Zoo. It is a fantastic place. I saw creatures I never knew God made! I got to hold a koala and feed a kangaroo. I love my job!

I have one more service in Australia and then I will fly to New Zealand for ministry there. Please pray for us!

September 6, 2011 - G'day Mate

Greetings from Australia. I arrived here last Friday. I have preached in several churches and taught two sessions at the Holy Fire Bible College. Glen and Anna Gerhauser are our missionary hosts. Glen is a graduate of BRSM and is doing a great work here.

August 17, 2011 - On-the-Road Vacation

Since I never travel (lol) we decided to drive to Oklahoma for a short vacation. Summer went with us and we picked up both Matts on our way and had a great time. I took the boys to Frontier City but mostly we just had a wonderful time seeing our family. The five of us had not been together on a trip in six years.

While home this summer I have been working on books, doing accounting and trying to catch up after being on the road every week for six months. Now, I am preparing for my trip to Australia and New Zealand. Please pray for us.

July 23, 2011 - Summertime Travels

In addition to preaching at Family Revival Center in Foley, I have made some interesting trips this summer. I drove to Nashville to attend a minister's forum which addressed the liberalism that is sweeping the Pentecostal movement. It was a very interesting time with several of my friends. If the church does not stay with the power of gospel, we have no future.

This week, Summer and I drove to Baton Rouge to attend the youth conference at Family Worship Center. It was outstanding. Hundreds of young people were gathered from around the country. There were no fireworks, no fog machines, no special effects, no videos, no dramas, no rock bands, no tattoos and no piercings, just wonderful worship and the preaching of the cross. Thank God for youth groups who haven't forgotten how to have church and still keep the main thing the main thing!

July 8, 2011 - Bogata, Columbia

God gave me the opportunity to minister in South America today without ever leaving my house. I was interviewed for a radio program to be be broadcast in Bogata. The broadcaster was interested in the Azusa Street revival and had several of our books on the revival. There is a possibility to get our books translated into Spanish.

A great revival is in progress in Columbia. In fact, the radio station is owned by a powerful church with 35,000 in attendance, making it one of the largest churches in the world. I was blessed to share in this great ministry.

July 5, 2011 - Independence Day

TJ and I went back to Mobile this weekend to be with the Busbys and the wonderful people at Cross and Crown FWC. We really enjoyed the time of ministry and the good fellowship at this church.

We celebrated the fourth of July at home. I have been so busy this year, I was away for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Memorial Day. I grilled some steaks, roasted some corn, fried some squash and okra and baked some potatoes. It was all fabulous, but nothing tasted better than home and family.

June 28, 2011 - Our own Backyard

Last week-end I preached in Mobile, Alabama at Cross and Crown Family Worship Center for Pastor James Busby. It was great to be in our own backyard. TJ was able to attend with me on Sunday and I am always so happy when we are in services together. I miss my family when I am on the road. Not to mention, I got to sleep in my own bed every night for a week--the first time this year! There's no place like home . . . there's no place like home!

God really blessed the services. A number received the Holy Ghost baptism on Friday night and several got right with God on Sunday morning. Pastor has invited us to come back this week-end for three more services. If you are on the Gulf Coast come join us for these exciting meetings!

June 20, 2011 - Canada

I was blessed this week to minister at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Sarnia is a beautiful city located on Lake Huron. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, but I have to admit I would rather be here in June than January!

We had a great time teaching on Azusa Street and preaching twice to this great congregation. Several got right with God and as many as a dozen received the Holy Ghost baptism. We are seeing believers baptized every single week, Praise God.

The pastor was on a mission trip to Africa so we were hosted by Assistant Pastors Keith and Patricia Patrick. The Patricks are former BRSM students and great friends.

June 16, 2011 - Back with Brother Richard

This week it was a great joy to be in Rochester, MI with Pastor Richard Crisco. Brother Richard and I worked together at BRSM for three and one half years. It was a great joy. I still miss it so much, but it is such a pleasure to reunite with friends from that season of our lives.

Brother Richard has been in Rochester for seven years now and has a great church. We had a wonderful weekend and saw many baptized in the Holy Ghost.

June 10, 2011 - I Am Come that You Might Have Life

I have been traveling so much this month I am nearly dizzy. I am in Atlanta as I write this, I flew in this morning from Augusta, Georgia and now I am waiting on a plane to Detroit. Yesterday I flew from Kansas City to Columbia. On Monday I will fly back to Augusta, drive to South Carolina, load my car and drive to Pensacola. Then, on Saturday, I fly back to Detroit and ride to Canada. I usually prefer driving to flying, but I had already bought several tickets to accommodate the revival in Columbia and now I feel I am running in circles. Thank God, they are blessed circles!

What a week we enjoyed at Abundant Life Assembly of God in Neosho, Missouri. Pastor Ken Robinson was such a great host, and so very hungry for God. The Lord did not disappoint us, many were refreshed and several received the Holy Spirit baptism.

While in Neosho, I made a couple of more trips to Joplin. Pastor Robinson is the sectional presbyter over Joplin and has overseen much of the Assemblies of God relief efforts. The horror stories are heart breaking. I tried to get a picture that shows the extent of the damage. If you can imagine, three weeks ago this rubble was the homes of thousands of people. As many as 8,000 homes were destroyed. The total destruction you see in this photo goes on for miles and miles. Please continue praying for these people.

June 6, 2011 - This and That

This has been an incredibly busy season for this ministry. Understand, I am not complaining--I thank God for the open doors.

Last week I was back at Landmark Christian Center in Strafford, Missouri. We have been with Pastor Wayne Neal several times in the past four years. This week was fantastic. People were baptized in the Holy Ghost every night. Praise God!

I flew into St Louis and picked up my grandson, Matthew, to spend the days in Strafford. He is such a good boy, I really enjoyed his company. Brother Neal and Landmark treated Matthew royally, even taking an offering for him. He will never forget the kindness.

While in the area we visited the tornado carnage in Joplin. As most of you know, we lived seven years in Joplin and loved the city. It is so sad to see the devastation. Our former home was damaged but not destroyed. Everything a half block north of the house was totally wiped out. Eleven churches were totally destroyed, as well as business and 7,000 homes. As of today, 142 are confirmed dead. Please pray for these good people as they try to put their lives back together.

May 29, 2011 - On the Road

The two weeks since I last posted have been very busy, but very blessed. I was able to go home for a few days and then TJ went with me on the road. We had a great trip, celebrating her birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. We were at West Columbia, SC for the eighth week of revival there. It may have been the most powerful Thursday and Friday since we started.

From there we drove to Blairs, Virginia to be with Pastors Roger and Garnie Ewing at White Oaks Worship Center. Wow! What a great church and what a powerful revival. Many got right with God and received the baptism in the Holy Ghost. We have never been treated better. The church even had a cake for TJ's birthday. Thank you guys!

When the meeting ended in Virginia we drove to Atlanta where TJ flew to Pensacola and I flew to Missouri. It was so good to be on the road together again. On the way down to Atlanta we stopped and had fellowship with our dear friends James and Susan Dodd.

We could not have revival in SC this week because New Covenant had a scheduling conflict. We will be back there this Thursday and Friday.

May 17, 2011 - Georgetown, SC

I started last week at Fireside Ministries in Geogetown, SC. Pastors Billy and Flora Anderson had visited the revival in West Columbia and invited me to Georgetown. We had a great time. It was amazing how the atmosphere of the church changed in five services. Brother Billy says the spirit of revival continues.

Thursday and Friday at the Midlands Miracle were awesome. Thursday night was one of those services that take your breath away.

I have been home for a few days, leave again tomorrow for South Carolina--eighth week! Wonderful news, TJ is going with me for a week!

May 9, 2011 - Midlands Miracle Revival

It is hard to explain how awesome the service was Friday night. From beginning to end, the presence of God was in the house. I wish you could be here to share in this move of God.

May 3 , 2011 - Revival in the Midlands Continues

After preaching at Howe, I went to Oklahoma City to the Oklahoma District Council of the Assemblies of God. I received my first credentials to preach in the Oklahoma District forty years ago, but it had been 30 years since I was at a council there. It was so good to visit with so many of my friends. Missionary James Dodd and I went to church together Wednesday night and after service got the sad news of the death of David Wilkerson. What a great man of God!

I spent one day in Comanche with my family. We would really like to move back to this area and build a home and offices, please pray for God's will to be done.

Services were powerful at Lexington, SC this week. This was our fifth week of revival. Continue to pray for God's touch on these meetings!

On Sunday I was with Pastors Tom and Esther Mims at Praise Church in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. This church has an incredible property with 58 acres of beautiful hillside. It is like a lovely park. The church has a prophet's chamber and Pastor Mims has invited me to stay here as long as I am preaching in SC. This is a great blessing, especially this week, since I am exhausted from my busy schedule this spring and am also fighting a sore throat and cold that has been trying to attach itself to me since I left the cooler weather in Oklahoma.

April 25, 2011 - He Is Risen!

I flew back to South Carolina for the Midlands Miracle Revival on Thursday and Friday. I believe this week was the most powerful ever. If you can get to Lexington for these meetings, please join us.

I was back in Oklahoma for Easter Sunday at Howe. Praise God, He is risen! We had a great day, with a wonderful dinner. On Sunday night I preached up a storm--literally. A thunderstorm came through and the power went off twice during the sermon. At the same time hail was pelting the side of the building. I didn't know whether to continue preaching or crawl under a pew.

April 22, 2011 - Back in Oklahoma

This week I returned to Family Praise Center Assembly of God in Viinita, OK for four days of revival. It was incredible. God moved in every service. Lives were changed, several were baptized in the Holy Ghost. On Wednesday night two local churches brought their youth groups to join with the youth in Vinita. There was a packed house and more teens than I have preached to in a long time. There was a time I was thought of as a "youth evangelist." I can't imagine what changed that!

April 16, 2011 - Revival

Trying to explain revival to someone who hasn't experienced it is like trying to tell a blind man what blue looks like. It cannot be explained, but it is real--and real revival was in West Columbia, SC this week. Lives were transformed by God's power. We will continue every Thursday and Friday night through the end of April.

A pastor and his wife drove to the revival from Georgetown, SC, some three hours away. He said when they heard about it they were so hungry, they just had to come. PTL. After the service he said the meeting was so powerful that he didn't understand why there were not people lined up to get inside. Well, we are a long way from a full house, let alone lines, but God is definitely up to something in South Carolina. Pray with us for wisdom to let Him have His way!

April 13, 2011 - Foley, AL

Sunday morning found us back in familiar territory. I preached at Family Revival Center in Foley. Pastor Tommy Howard is a former student and we always enjoy being in Foley. Several answered the invitation to get the sin out of their lives.

April 11, 2011 - Revival Continues in South Carolina

On Thursday and Friday I returned to Lexington, SC for services with Pastor Brian Davis and the Landmark congregation. Once again, God showed Himself powerful. Many were in the altar to repent and several received the Holy Ghost baptism.

One of the great aspects of revival are the powerful and sometimes humorous testimonies it produces. This couple are new converts and both received the baptism this week at the revival. Pastor Brian had them testify. The lady said, "This is just a great big love feast. It's like the sixties, but with clothes." Amen, Sister.

April 4, 2011 - Revival in Rowan County

This week we returned to Rowan Christian Assembly in Salisbury, NC. We had two great revivals in this church in the late 90s. It was such a joy to reconnect with the congregation and Pastors Glynn and Gay Lynn Dickens. God moved powerfully. By Brother Dickens estimation, between 20 and 25 received the baptism in the Holy Ghost on Tuesday night. To God be all glory!

April 4, 2011 - A History Maker

Between meetings, I was blessed to visit the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. What a great man! I was blessed to stand behind Billy's crusade pulpit and ask God to let the something of the mantle of this great soul-winning evangelist to rest on my ministry.

April 1, 2011 - Revival

Real revival has broken out at Landmark Church in Lexington, SC. You can feel it in the air! Souls have been saved, there have been healings, baptism in the Holy Ghost--the river is here! Pastor Brian Davis made some 30 trips to Pensacola during the revival and he has been preparing his congregation for revival for the four years since he launched the church.

We will continue services next week on Thursday and Friday night. If you are in the area, come join us, support us, stand with us for revival. Services are being held at New Covenant church. If you are not in the area, every night there are people praying before the services, would you join them in believing God for an outpouring?

March 31, 2011 - Give Me the Ole Time Religion

I am spending two weeks in the beautiful Carolinas. I was invited to South Carolina by Landmark Church in Lexington. We started with an Azusa session and then spoke at Central Assembly of God in Columbia. Pastor Kerrick Breen is doing a great job ministering to those struggling with addictions.

The great old spiritual, "Give Me that Ole Time Religion" originated in the black worship in Lexington. A white tent evangelist heard the song in 1888 and wrote down the words, published it and as they say . . . the rest is history.

March 20, 2011 - Northern Virginia

I just finished a fabulous week-end of ministry in Northern Virginia. I ministered four times in just two days. On Saturday morning, I flew into DC, was picked up at the airport and went straight to a minister's meeting where I shared the word. That night I spoke at a new church plant, Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The Gilberts were wonderful hosts.

On Sunday I spoke at Whole Word Fellowship. Pitts Evans, the pastor, is a BRSM graduate. His son, Joseph, also graduated from the school. Larry and Gina Cobb, also BRSMers, are on staff at the church. It was like a homecoming. You cannot know how much I enjoy reconnecting with former students and friends from Brownsville. Whole Word is a great church and they really were a blessing to us.

I was also privileged to meet Sidikie Kamara, general overseer of the Gethsemane Evangelical Ministries in Sierra Leone. I believe this was a divine appointment and look forward to ministering in Sierra Leone when God provides the open door.

March 16, 2011 - Vinita, Oklahoma

We had a great weekend at Family Praise Center in Vinita, Oklahoma. Pastor and Mrs. Jerry Ogdon are long-time friends. Hard to believe, but I first preached in this church more than forty years ago. Thirteen years ago we had a month of powerful revival in Vinita. We will be going back in April and are praying for a real breakthrough revival.

March 10, 2011 - Spiritual Fruit!

What an incredible week! On Sunday we were with a former Messenger College student, on Monday I was with Deron Gillespie, a BRSM grad. Deron is the director of Pensacola Teen Challenge. Not too many years ago, Deron was a drug addict, living under a bridge. He found Christ, graduated from Teen Challenge in Pensacola and then BRSM. What a transformation. Now, Deron leads the program.

We had a wonderful time with the guys and gals of Teen Challenge. Deron wanted me to preach on the Holy Spirit baptism and praise God 15 received the power of the Holy Ghost. Pray for Deron and the work Teen Challenge is doing in Pensacola and around the world.

March 7, 2011 - Columbus, GA

It is hard to tell what a great time TJ and I had at Cornerstone Church of God in Columbus, GA this Sunday. Cornerstone is a great church and Pastor and Mrs. Gregg Tipton were wonderful hosts. Gregg was one of my students at Messenger College. I am so proud of him. Most of the pastors I work with are around my my age or older. It is so refreshing to see a young man building a strong Pentecostal church.

March 4, 2011 - Home at last!

Wednesday night, I closed our meeting in Buna, TX. We had a great time with Pastor and Mrs. Owens. Several received the baptism in the Holy Ghost! To God be the glory!

This ended four weeks in Texas and I have to say it was wonderful to be in my own bed last night! I leave tomorrow for Georgia, but this is just a one day trip.

February 24, 2011 - Bay City, Texas

Last night was the last night at Family Worship Center in Bay City. We had a great time--I think six people received the Holy Ghost baptism! I love to see people filled with the Holy Ghost!

Pastor and Mrs. James Guerreo were so kind to me. I don't think I have ever been treated better than the folks in South Texas have treated me.

February 19, 2011 - Still in South Texas

I have been having a great time and meeting lots of fine pastors in South Texas. Pastor Calvin Durham has taken me to three sectional Light for the Lost banquets and I have met some really good people. I could never repay Calvin for his friendship and the kindness he has shown me.

Two nights this week, I preached at Lindale Assembly of God. What an honor to preach in such a historic church. I remember when I was a young preacher that Jimmy Swaggart held extended meetings at Lindale. It was really good to have fellowship with Pastor Meeks. The Meeks ministered in our church when we pastored in Oklahoma several decades ago. They are in their 20th year at Lindale and doing a great job adjusting to the changes in their community.

February 15, 2011 - The stars at night . . . are big and bright

. . . deep in the heart of Texas . . . Well, I am in the Houston area for my second week. I will be in South Texas two more weeks. On Sunday I ministered at New Life Church in Kingwood with Dr. Gary Piercey and his wonderful congregation. Sunday evening we spoke at their annual Valentines Day friendship banquet--a little out of my element--but we had a great time.

Yesterday, I drove to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico and had some dental work done. The tooth was cracked in the US, repaired in Brazil, broken in Ethiopia and pulled in Mexico. May it rest in peace.

February 10, 2011 - Back in the USA

Sorry I have been so slow in updating. Things have not gone exactly as I planned or hoped. On the day I was to fly home from Ethiopia, I had a severe case of food poisoning. It knocked me off my feet, for sure. I spent a couple extra days in Ethiopia and when I finally headed to the US I had only a few hours at home before heading to Houston. It has taken me several days to get back to semi-normal.

We have had a great meeting with Pastor Calvin Durham and the good people at Houston's Glad Tidings Assembly of God. They are always so kind and so generous to our ministry. I will be in South Texas for 3 more weeks before heading to Pensacola.

Here is a photo of the last crusade service in Ethiopia. Daniel King preached and it was awesome!

January 25, 2011 - Keeping up

It is difficult to keep up with the news since we are so busy. When I get back to the US I hope to put up a photo gallery. This trip has been amazing. Souls have been saved in almost every service. I wish I could tell you about every service. For now let it be sufficient to report on Sunday night's meeting. We preached at Exhorters Apostolic Reformation Church. This church is known for its choir and worship. They are like the Brownsville or Hillsong of Ethiopia. Next week they are planning a worship event that will fill the national stadium (35,000). Pastor Yohanes is doing a great job and making a real stand for biblical holiness.

The presence of God was so powerful in that place. The building was packed to the walls with more people standing outside. The altar call was . . . what can I say? Awesome? Amazing? I couldn't possibly count or even guess how many received the Holy Ghost baptism. My translator estimated no less than 75.

Tomorrow we leave for Wondo Genet for a crusade. The crusade is hosted by Joshua Campaign and Evangelist Daniel King from Tulsa. I am blessed to be able to tag along.

January 20, 2011 - How do you say "tired" in Ethiopian?

I really appreciate everyone that follows my blog and especially those who take it as a reminder to pray for me. When I get an opportunity I will work on some pictures and try to start a gallery. For the moment, I am too busy to look up. For example, on Tuesday I taught at the Bible School for 4 hours in the morning, then preached at a service at 6 PM and then was asked to tell the Azusa Story at an all night youth service. I got to bed at 1:30 and got back up the next morning at 5:30 to get ready for the hour ride back to the school and another morning of teaching. The loss of sleep was well worth it though--God moved powerfully among the young people.

Abbi Akvist and her husband Per are my hosts in Ethiopia. They are from Sweden, but are missionaries with the Pentecostal Church of God. Per leads "Joshua Campaign" in Ethiopia. They have a number of great ministries. Abbi heads a project that takes young girls off the streets and teaches them to perform tasks like cooking, sewing, etc. This education mixed with a wholesome Christian environment gives the girls a new chance in life.

January 17, 2011 - Back to Africa

I arrived in Addis Ababa late Thursday night. My luggage arrived on Saturday night and I have to say I was quite glad to see it.

I started ministry early Friday morning, giving the devotional at Joshua Campaign. Jet lagged and exhausted, I preached again that night. We had a little break on Saturday and then preached twice on Sunday. Today I taught for 3 hours at the Bible school and will speak at a ministry this afternoon and a church tonight. I will teach at the Bible school for four hours each morning the rest of the week. I also have services most nights. I will preach in two churches on Sunday and then do a leaders conference on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we leave for another city where Joshua Campaign is conducting a crusade. What a trip!

Per and Abbi Akvist are wonderful missionaries and great hosts. I love their precious family!

January 12, 2011 - Oklahoma

We enjoyed a return trip to Lindsay, OK this week. Let me tell you, it was cold in Oklahoma. Despite the weather, the Holy Spirit warmed our hearts. Pastor Rodney Hucheson was a great host and I was able to stay with my brother, Danny.

Please pray for my Aunt Evelyn. She is an incredible 90 years young and a wonderful blessing to us. She had a mini-stoke last week and is recovering slowly.

Because of winter weather, I had some real travel problems. My flight home was cancelled and I had to come through Mobile. Thanks to Summer I was able to get home. I also had a cancellation and rebooking on my Ethiopia flight this morning.

My next update should be from Africa. Pray for us.

January 5, 2011 - Happy New Year

What a way to begin 2011. We have been in services this week with Bishop Kenneth Williams at Overcoming Faith Ministries in Robertsdale. It was great to start off the new year sleeping in my own bed. It is also wonderful to be close enough to home that TJ can be in service with me. Brother and Sister Williams and their congregation were wonderful hosts!
