2009
December 29, 2009 - Grandbuddy!
I pray you had a good Christmas, we sure did. Once again I have proven I can eat enough for 3 people. The diet starts in January. We are really blessed to have our grandbuddy in Pensacola with us for a week. We are having so much fun.

Today Matt and Grandpa saw replicas of the Nina and Pinta. They were in port in Pensacola. Most people don'f know the long history of Pensacola. Originally settled 450 years ago, it was the first settlement in the new world.
December 19, 2009 - God is good!
It has been a very good two weeks since I last wrote. I have written many pastors, introducing our Azusa Street Now Conference. Pray with us for divine appointments, divine connections and Holy Ghost setups.
Last weekend we went to Baton Rouge to visit Family Worship Center again. What an incredible church! It is hard to believe how gracious the Swaggarts have been to us. It is a little after midnight on Saturday morning. We received a call a little while ago that TJ's grandmother has received her promotion to glory at 99 years of age. Sister Taylor was a faithful saint of God. When she was almost 90 she rode a bus all the way from Oklahoma to Pensacola to be in the Brownsville revival. Like everyone else, she stood in the long lines to be part of the glorious outpouring. Tonight, there were no bus trips or long lines for her tired body. She was hosted by angels as she entered her eternal reward.
We will be making a quick trip to Oklahoma for the memorial service, please pray for traveling mercy.
December 7, 2009 - Central Chapel
We had a great day yesterday with Pastor Clayton McCormick at Central Chapel in Pensacola. Central was a tremendous blessing to us last year during the reunion conference.

December 3, 2009 - Azusa Street Now Conferences
If you noticed a change on the home page, we have added a link to the Azusa Street Now Conferences we plan to add to our schedule in 2010. We have been sending information to pastors, introducing this new aspect of our ministry. Please pray with us daily for divine appointments and Holy Ghost setups. Click here for more information.
November 26, 2009 - Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank God, I am home today for Thanksgiving. I drove fourteen and a half hours yesterday to be with my family for this special day. Golden Corral is cooking a turkey for us as we speak! T.J. has made some wonderful banana bread and pies for later.

The Prayer Revival ended Tuesday night. It was incredible. Wish you could have been there. (Thanks to Joel Burris for Landmark Photos)
November 19, 2009 - Ready!
Ready! No better word could describe Landmark Christian Center in Strafford, Missouri. Pastor Wayne Neal invited us to lead a "Prayer Revival" this week and the church is ready. We have had several testimonies of healing and many received the baptism in the Holy Spirit last night. With a church that averages about 200 on Sunday morning, we have had 150 plus out each night to pray. It is wonderful! God is in the house. We will continue next week through Tuesday night and see how God leads us then. If you need a refreshing, come join us!

November 12, 2009 - What-A-Burger Church
When I am at home we always meet a group of friends from Pensacola Revival Church at a local What-A-Burger. This weekly ritual is in its fifth year. We go so "religiously" we jokingly refer to it as "What-A-Burger Church." Sometimes there are only three of us and other times we can have up to ten. It is so good to have fellowship with Christian friends.

On Tuesday of this week the restaurant had an orange night to promote company loyalty. Of course we were there in our orange. For those of you with a long memory, I even brought out the orange shoes.
November 6, 2009 - Partner's Connect
I mailed our monthly news letter to our partners today. We are so thankful for the people that stand with us in prayer and financial support. I hope more of the friends of this ministry will pray about being our monthly partner.

November 5, 2009 - Pensacola "Ministry"
NO
The past couple weeks I have been busy with Pensacola "Ministry." Our storage container has been leaking in the roof and in bad need of painting, so I have been working on my doctorate in sanding, cleaning, patching and painting. Not to mention, there is always office work to be done when I am home. This week I sent several items (posters, brochures, postcards, envelopes) for conference promotion to the printer. Pray with us that this May will be bigger and better than last year. I can hardly wait!
October 25, 2009 - Foley
T. J. and I drove to Foley, Alabama this morning to preach at Family Revival Church. Tommy Howard, the pastor was saved in the Brownsville Revival and attended BRSM. We were also blessed to have former students Charles and Melissa Spinetta drive down from Mississippi to see us. They have a ten week old baby. Did I ever tell you I love babies? Check out the hair on this little dude.

October 19, 2009 - Home
I finished up in Corsicana on Wednesday and got home late Thursday night. Summer came home with me. She has had a tough time getting a job in Dallas and will try Pensacola for a while. Friday was spent mowing the lawn and getting out our monthly partners letter. If you do not partner with our ministry, you or your church can become a valuable part of this ministry by making a monthy faith promise commitment of any size.
T J and I drove to Baton Rouge and attended Family Worship Center on Sunday. What a great church.
October 14, 2009 - Chili, Fruit Cakes and such
Yesterday was Summer's birthday! I was in Corsicana so I drove to Dallas and had lunch with her. Hard to believe our baby is so grown up! Corsicana is the home of Wolfe Brand Chili (famous in our part of the world) and Collen Street Bakery which makes some of the world's greatest fruitcakes.
We are in services at That Church. Mike and Brenda Howell are the pastors. Two times Mike and Brenda worked with us in the pastoral ministry. They are some of the finest people we know. I wish you could have been here Monday night.
There is a fellow in the church nicknamed "Catfish." He was a drug abuser, drinker and generally rough character before he got saved a few years ago. Now Catfish is a on fire believer--but he had never received the Holy Ghost baptism. He couldn't understand this since he was working for God and trying to live a holy life. It was such a joy to share with him how to receive and see God gloriously baptism him in the Spirit.
October 8, 2009 - Gospel Beams
This week we were blessed to be with our long-time friends Ray and Dianne Ledbetter at Gospel Beams Church in Duncan, Ok. Thank God for those who received the precious Holy Spirit baptism.

October 3, 2009 - Where the Fire Fell

While in Joplin, Worship Pastor Mark Para from Galena Assembly of God drove me over to Galena to see the Mary Arthur house. Mary Arthur was healed in a Charles Parham meeting and invited the evangelist to preach in her home. The revival in Galena was a turning point in the establishment of the Pentecostal movement. The Assembly of God in Galena is the oldest Assembly of God church and the second oldest Pentecostal church in the world.
October 1, 2009 - J-Town
It has been a real pleasure to be in our old hometown of Joplin, MO. We have been in services with Pastor Dan Saunders and the wonderful people of Gateway Church. I was also honored to speak at Messenger College chapel, where I previously served.
The officials of the Pentecostal Church of God were so very kind to us. Bishop Charles Scott invited us to lunch with the executives of the denomination. I was humbled by his graciousness. Thank you, Bishop!

September 21, 2009 - Where the wind comes right behind the rain This weekend we had a great time at First Assembly of God in Elk City, OK. I had met Pastors T.D. and Judy Gifford on our trip to Nigeria. They are very special people. The weekend was so much better because T.J. and Summer were able to be with me for the first time in a long time.

I taught on the Topeka Outpouring on Saturday night, Azusa on Sunday morning and the baptism in the Holy Ghost on Sunday night. Many were baptized in the Holy Ghost. This weekend was a pilot for our Azusa Street NOW Conferences we are planning for 2010. We trust it was a sign of great things to come.
I believe 50 people have received the baptism in our last three meetings. Praise the Lord.
September 16, 2009 - Deep in the Heart of Texas
We are in the fifth night of services with Pastor Lonnie Harris at First Assembly of God in Terrell, Texas. We were scheduled for three nights, but Pastor Harris extended the meeting. Last night the presence of God was so thick you could almost cut it with a knife. I love the presence of God!
Pastor Harris and I were neighboring pastors in Oklahoma almost 30 years ago. It is really great to renew acquaintance. He is doing an excellent job in Terrell and over 14 years has taken the church from 60 to almost 400. Pastor Harris has done incredible missions work in Mexico and has invited me to join him on a trip in the future.
August 22, 2009 - The Move Is On . . .
I am so glad Pastor Mike Humphrey had the vision and faith to extend this meeting. On Thursday night one man was "so" saved and then received the Holy Ghost baptism. Four more also received the Holy Ghost. Last night 4 others received the baptism. We are going to stay for tomorrow and see where God is leading us. The move is on in West Virginia . . .
August 20, 2009 - Dolly Sods We have had a wonderful time in Cabins, each service has been kissed by the Spirit, but last night was special. Pastor Mike asked us to stay one more night for another service.

Mike and Estee took me to the top of Dolly Sods, the second highest peak in WV. It was a fun excursion and we were on the top of the world looking down on creation--well, at least the top of West Virginia--well, almost the top.
August 17, 2009 - Country Roads . . .
It is a long ways from Abuja, Nigeria to Cabins, West Virginia! Last Sunday we were in the metropolitan African city, now we are in a backwoods country village in the mountains of West Virginia. I love this job! Pastors Mike and Estee Humphrey are doing a great job in Cabins. They are both graduates of BRSM. I am so proud of these guys. We had a great service last night. Pray that God will continue to have His way.
As I travel in the US I often see something so beautiful or so remarkable, I have to stop for a "Kodak Moment." Here is one of those places. This a lake in Southern Arkansas near the Louisiana border. I passed this place in early July. Its unique beauty was remarkable to me. Hope you enjoy it. In a few days I will post a pic of the New River Gorge Bridge I crossed on Saturday.

August 7, 2009 - Abuja 2
We finished the conference in Abuja today. I preached this morning on the baptism in the Holy Ghost. I had a good time. Everyone on the team has done a great job and the Nigerians have been wonderful hosts.
We will preach in churches here in Abuja on Sunday and then head for home. I have posted a photo gallery, click here to see it.
August 6, 2009 - Abuja
It is such an honor to be part of the Azusa Africa Conference in Abuja, Nigeria. Missionaries Denny and Sandy Miller and the Nigerian church have worked hard to put together a great conference. Every session has been powerful. Thank God, He moved on all of us yesterday as I taught on the Azusa Street revival.
The Assemblies of God in Nigeria is larger than the A/G in the United States with some three million members. The African Assemblies of God have declared the next 10 years as the Decade of Pentecost. They are believing God for 10 million to be Holy Ghost baptized.
We have enjoyed safety and health on our journey. Please continue to pray for us. I will have a photo gallery up in a few days.

July 29, 2009 - Getting ready . . .
Two more days and I will leave Pensacola for Nigeria, Africa. I heard from the conference host this week and they are expecting more than 5,000 pastors and church leaders in the meetings. Please pray with us for an outpouring of Pentecostal power!
July 18, 2009 - Back to Africa

Please be covering my Africa trip in prayer. I will leave Pensacola on July 31. I am going as part of the Decade of Pentecost (Acts in Africa) initiative of the Assemblies of God. The goal is to awaken a new Pentecost in Africa and send forth missionaries from Africa to the world. I will be teaching on Azusa Street and preaching in the conference.
July 10, 2009 - MC Prez
This is a photo snapped at the Messenger College reunion. With me in the picture are other former presidents, James D. Gee and Charles Pancoast.

July 6, 2009 - A Hero of the Faith
T J had a long week-end with the 4th of July so we drove over to Baton Rouge to attend Family Worship Center. What a great church! The worship is so anointed and the presence of the Lord is so ever present. Donnie Swaggart preached a great message on the rapture. It was good to see that I am not the only one preaching on the rapture. Donnie honored us by inviting us to the platform-a blessing we did not expect.
After service, all of the Swaggarts took us out to lunch. It was a remarkable moment for us. Bro. Swaggart has always been my hero. The greatest sermon I ever heard was the message he preached at the General Council in Dallas in 1969. I was only 17, but I will never forget it. I was able to tell him what a blessing he was to my life. Francis said she wanted me to come on her radio program and talk about Pentecostal origins. Donnie (who looks and acts more like his dad every day) was so kind to us and his son Gabriel seems to be such an outstanding young minister with a very sweet and humble spirit. God bless the Swaggarts.
Last week I was at the General Convention of the Pentecostal Church of God in Joplin. It was great to see many old friends and enjoy the Spirit of the Lord that was on the meeting.
June 13, 2009 - Catching up
There is not a lot of news to report. Summer is a slow time for evangelists. If the Lord decides to show up in the summer, most of the church will be on vacation and miss Him.
We are still catching up from the conference. There is so much to do--record keeping and such. Deena Alexander has been an incredible help with all this. We are already planning a bigger reunion for next year. It will be the fifteenth anniversary of the start of the Brownsville Revival.
I went to the West Florida District Council of the A/G this week. There was wonderful preaching and worship. In two weeks I will be back in Joplin, MO, introducing my newest book at the Pentecostal Church of God General Convention.
June 2, 2009 - Basking
We are still basking in the glory of a great conference!

Everyday we are getting good reports and testimonies of God's grace. We shall do it again next year if God is willing! These photos were taken by Danny Rohm.

May 24, 2009 - Better than I ever dreamed!
If I had made a list of all the good things I hoped God would do in the conference, I could never had thought of all that He has done. I have heard wonderful testimonies of healing--both physical and spiritual. We have had five awesome services and three left to go. Praise God for His goodness.

May 14, 2009 - Final Stretch
Please pray for us. We are on the final stretch leading up to the conference. In fact, it is one week from today. I am also trying to finish my book on PCG history before the deadline. To say I am stressed is an understatement. I was talking to Wayne Neal on my cell phone today while at the same time I was searching all over the house, looking in pockets, etc. -- looking for? You guessed it, my cell phone!
We have 300 registered and looks like we could have a full house. Please pray with us that we will meet the budget.
May 7, 2009 - Taco Mayo
Well it is time you heard about another one of my favorites. Whenever I am in Oklahoma and surrounding areas, I head for Taco Mayo, my favorite fast food mexican joint. Wonderful quesadillas!

May 2, 2009 - The Family
It has been a while since T.J. and Summer made a trip with me, but we are all in St Louis this week-end. Better yet, we stopped in Cape Girardeau yesterday and spent some time with the two Matts. It seems like forever since we were all together. What a great time!

May 1, 2009 - Cane Ridge Kentucky What an exciting week. I was blessed to be invited to the second leadership summit of the Awakening America Alliance. The meeting was in Lexington, KY and we had the privilege of visiting the Cane Ridge Camp grounds. In the early 1800s as many as 30,000 people gathered on these grounds for one of the greatest revivals in American history.
The Cane Ridge meetings were strategic to the Second Great Awakening. The original log cabin meeting house built in 1891 still stands.

April 28, 2009 - Cornerstone, Sugar Land, TX
Last week we were at Cornerstone A/G in Sugar Land, TX. God gave us a good breakthrough and several received the Holy Ghost baptism on the last night. Pastor Mark Quick was a very kind and generous host. Cornerstone was somewhat like being on the mission field, with people from many different countries in the congregation.

April 21, 2009 - Howe, again
We had a great meeting last week in Howe, OK. This truly a Pentecostal church. It has been a long time since a congregation literally shouted us down, but we got really close in Howe on Monday night.
Yes, there are churches that still have altars and still know how to use them.

April 9, 2009 - Praise Assembly, Comanche
Thank God for three days at home. I left Oklahoma on Tuesday and have to drive back on Saturday, but I needed a few days at home to do the partner's newsletter, get a book to the printer, do Summer's taxes, mow the grass, work on the conference, etc. I am working feverishly trying to get it all done.
Once again, we had a good meeting at Praise Assembly in Comanche. It was so good to see so many of our long-term friends. Pastor Warren Harkins is always hungry for revival.
Donnie Foraker is a detective with the Duncan, Ok police force. He and his wife, Freanna, have been supporting our ministry every month for more than ten years. We could not stay on the field without our faithful friends. Thanks Donnie and Freanna.

April 10, 2009 - Bixby First Assembly
What a good time we had with our friends David and Linda
Dillon and the congregation of Bixby First Assembly of God. I have preached at the church 12 of the last 16 years (and even before that). Rick, Diane and Meridith Shartz came up to join us they are so faithful to attend our meetings all of the country.
March 31, 2009 - Landmark
We had a great day with our friends Wayne and Janet Neal at Landmark Chrisitan Center. This a great church with a great leadership team.

March 29, 2009 - Revival: The Azusa Street Story
I left Pensacola after just a few hours at home so I could drive to Springfield, Mo. Central Bible College professor Glenda Mohr was presenting an Azusa Street drama, based largely on my book. I am so glad I made the trip. The program was over the top. What a great job! I wept as I watched the Azusa story. It was so powerful, the whole church world should see it. Good job, Glenda.
By the way, the young man playing Charles H. Mason, founder of the COGIC, is his great-grand son. How cool is that?
March 27, 2009 - Getting Ready to Leave!
Well, my mission to the Dominican Republic is coming to an end. I will leave for the airport in a couple hours. It has been such a wonderful trip. The Clowers have been such gracious hosts. I do hope we can spend more time with them in the future. Every church has welcomed us and I believe souls were saved every evening.
When I return to the US, I must hit the ground running. I will get into Pensacola about 8 tonight and must leave at 5 AM tomorrow for Springfield, MO. Please pray for us for travelling grace.
I have added a gallery of DR pics, you can get there by clicking this sentence or through the photos link at the top of the page.
March 25, 2009 - Heaven on Earth!
The last couple days in the Dominican have been like heaven on earth. Souls are being saved, lives are being changed, and we are meeting some of the most wonderful people in the world. I want to say a special thank you to Darrell, Bonnie and Trevor Clowers my gracious hosts. The Clowers are IPHC missionaries and are a wonderful family doing a great job for missions.

March 23, 2009 - Sunday in the Dominican
What a great day we had yesterday. In the morning we preached at an English church here in Santiago. Most of the attendees are missions workers. It was a joy to encourage these Christian workers to never give up!
Sunday night we drove back to Santo Domingo for services at Rosa de Sharon, the central church for the IPHC in the Dominican. We had a wonderful service--several were saved and most everyone received a powerful touch of the Holy Ghost! I love this job!
The church last night gave me an offering for preaching. I didn't want to accept it, knowing how poor the people are, but the missionaries insisted that the people needed to learn how to sow seed. The offering was about $30, equivalent to two days wages in the DR. This may be the "largest" offering I have ever recieved.

March 22, 2009 - Pastor's Seminar
We journeyed to Santo Domingo (the capitol) yesterday and had an Azusa conference with the IPHC pastors. It was wonderful. The Spirit of Azusa visited us in a powerful way.

During the meeting, someone broke a window in our vehicle and tried to steal everything inside. Someone heard the window break and ran the would-be thieves off. Thanks for covering us and our stuff in prayer.
March 21, 2009 - Welcome to DR

This is Santiago, Dominican Republic. I arrived yesterday. I will be traveling to Santo Domingo today to teach on Azusa Street to the area pastors.
The Reunion Conference is two months from today. Please pray for the conference today.
March 20, 2009 - The Connoisseur
I am waiting at the airport in Pensacola, about to depart for the Dominican Republic. Seems like a good time to introduce a new feature to the blog. You may not know this, but I am a connoisseur of hole-in-the-wall, greasy spoons. Forget the fine dining, my specialty is the off the road--road kill cafes. From time to time I will introduce you to some of favorite eateries. Whenever I am in South Louisiana I try to stop at the Boudin Shop in Beaux Bridge. The best beans and rice in the world. You know you are in the right place when there is a hole in the table with a metal bucket for your scraps. Can anyone say gator boudin? Yum, yum.

March 16, 2009 - Silsbee, TX
We had a good time this week-end with Pastor Chris Kirkendall at Faith Christian Center in Silsbee, Texas. This was our third time in 5 years to be in Silsbee.
Dave Harris, a member of the church, is one of our faithful monthly partners. We thank God for his support. People like Dave make it possible for us to do missions work like we will be doing in the Dominican Republic next week. Maybe God would speak to your heart to join us as a financial partner. As Brother Chris often says, "Many hands make light work." Thanks Dave for being one of the hands.

March 13, 2009 - My Heart's on Fire-uh for Elmira
Today I have finished my trip to Elmira, NY and am headed back to New Orleans via Detroit. When we flew into Detroit on Wednesday, a bird struck the wing and left a dent in it. It is always good to know that people are praying for us. You are praying for us, aren't you?
This was my first trip to upstate New York and I had a great time. The people here are so friendly. I was able to gather a good deal of information on Edward Matthews, the former chairman of the Pentecostal Church of God.
I visited Woodlawn cemtery where Matthew's is buried in an unmarked grave. According to a grandson, the family was poor, it was the depression and they could only afford a plot at the top of a hill. Also in the cemetery is Mark Twain and Hal Roach. As a boy I enjoyed Mark Twain's books and still draw illustrations from them. Of course, I still enjoy Hal Roach's short films of the Little Rascals and Laurel and Hardy. I snapped a shot of another grave, just because the monument is so remarkable. The sculpture is of John the Revelator with a pen and tablet in hand and the inscription is "Write blessed are those who die in the Lord."
I don't know if this family was very religious or just very rich. One thing I do know, on the other side of the hill in a lonely grave is blessed man who died in the Lord!
March 8, 2009 - BRSM2009
As we get closer to the reunion, my excitement level is increasing. We will be mailing these postcards soon. If you would like to have some to mail to your friends that love revival just send us a note adn we will mail them to you.
....
Feb 24, 2009 - Pensacola
I have been cooling my heels at home the past several days. This is the 450th anniversary of Pensacola. The king and queen of Spain were here last week. I was so disappointed when they didn't call. I guess he knew I was busy working on a book project.
Speaking of, I am writing the book on Pentecostal Church of God history. It is both challenging and exciting. I really enjoy this kind of research and writing. The BRSM reunion is getting closer. Things are looking good! I hope you can join us.
Last Tuesday I was interviewed on a radio program from the Louisville, KY area. I was glad to talk about revival.
Feb 11, 2009 - Casey, IL
This week we are at Word of Life Church in Casey, IL with BRSM alums Ken and April Wade. Ken helped us in the church in Pensacola and is a dear friend. On the first night, four received the baptism in the Holy Ghost. Thank God.
One of the perks of being an evangelist is seeing parts of the world that most people will never see. I have seen the Taj Mahal and the great pyramids. The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and Mount Everest. I have been privileged to ride on the Amazon and the Nile. This week, however, I got to see Moonshine Store in Moonshine, Il. What a deal! Its great to be alive!

Feb 9, 2009 - New Albany, IN
What a great joy to be with Pastor Russ Benson at Covenant Community Fellowship in New Albany. Russ and Brooke are both former BRSM students and they have several other BRSMers helping with the church. The church is a new plant, only eight months old, but has seen spectacular growth.
On our first night, a transformer blew up just before the service leaving us with no power, but there was plenty of power in the service. This is a great river church and I am so proud of these former students. They are all planning to be at the reunion in May. What a time we are going to have!

Feb 5, 2009 - Montgomery Assembly of God

It was a privilege to preach last night at Montgomery Assembly of God for Pastor Rodney Dukes. I have heard about Bro. Dukes from several friends and found him to be the wonderful Christian gentleman all described him to be. I look forward to a return visit to Montgomery Assembly.
In a side note--it's COLD up here!
Feb 4, 2009 - Ohio
I have been with my good friends Lary and Rosella Goss in Cincinnati this week. Larry and I have been friends for more than 30 years. He is the best Bible teacher I know. We had a good meeting with several guest ministers and even a gospel quartet, Calvary, to help us.

For the past two days, I have been in Elhart, Indiana and Findlay, Ohio doing research on my book on PCOG history. The trip to Elkhart was particularly productive. Of course, it snowed again last night!
January 31, 2009 - Manifestation
We had a good time in Manassas, Virginia even though there were some strong challenges during the week. Thursday, my last night there was wonderful. Thank God the glory fell and all were touched.
Pastor Gene Wells has a real vision to see God do something in the area. My prayers are with him and his congregation.

The highlight of the week for me was meeting Ricardo and Elizabeth White. This wonderful couple were such a support and blessing to me. Ricardo is a wonderful psalmist and worshipper and led all into God's holy presence.
January 27, 2009 - Winter Wonderland
I am at a Manifestation Conference in Manassas, Virginia and it is quickly turning into a winter wonderland here. Left service last night at 11:30 PM and it was cold, but clear. Woke up to a little different circumstance this morning!

January 17, 2009 - Seneca, Missouri
Our first revival of the new year was last week at Seneca Assembly of God in Seneca, MO. It was a joy to be with our friends Charles and Katie Whitekiller. Charles and Katie have been at the church a little more than a year and are doing a great job! Thank God for a good revival despite freezing weather and a bout I had with illness.

While in the area I was able to visit a library in West Plains, Mo, the Pentecostal Church of God Archives in Joplin and the Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center in Springfield. I collected some information for my new book on the PCOG history and had some good fellowship with my favorite historian, Glenn Gohr.
In Springfield, Glenn and I had lunch with Denny Miller an Assemblies of God Missionary over their "Acts in Africa" project. God willing, I will join Denny's team for a trip to Africa this summer. This is a wonderful initiative that is emphasizing Pentecostalism and the baptism of the Holy Ghost on the African continent. Please pray with us that God will provide the money for the trip.
It was also good to see Jimmy and Debbie Groves and Wayne Neal.
January 1, 2009 - Happy 2009!
It is official. We are in a new year. This marks the beginning of our second year back "on the road, again" as full-time evangelists. 2008 has been an incredible year. We had some ups and downs, but overall it was a very very good year for our ministry.
Last night, T.J. and I went to a watch night service at First Assembly here in Pensacola. We wanted to start the year right, with prayer!
I have several goals for 2009. First, I want BRSM2009 to be one of the greatest events of our lives. Enthusiasm is building. We have people registered from eight states and Norway and Uganda. You should register now for this powerful event.
Next, I want to make at least three overseas trips. International missions is such an important part of what God has called us to do. I have a number of invitations, but am looking for "God appointments." We will probably return to Africa, Great Britain and visit the Dominican Republic.
I would also like to publish at least three books. I am currently writing a history of the early Pentecostal Church of God that I hope to complete before their convention in June. I haven't decided yet, but I think the title might be Faith of our Fathers. I have almost finished another Azusa Street book, The Chosen Vessels and I want to reprint Leonard Ravenhill's Tried and Transfigured. There is so much work and expense in getting these books ready for publication.
These are some of my primary goals. I also have desires. My greatest desire for the new year is to see a major move of God. I deeply appreciate every pastor and church that hosts us for a meeting (even if it is just for one service) but I am praying that we will partner with a pastor that will buck the trend and want to see an extended meeting. Just a few years ago it was the norm for us to preach in one church for a month, two months or even three months. We stayed at one church for eight months. My, how God moved in these meetings! Pray with us that God will prepare the hearts of churches to see God do great things in 2009!
We are praying for you in this new year. Please pray for us. If we are going to do all He is has called us to do, we need financial miracles but we serve a God of Miracles. For Archived News, Click Below
